Surrounded by the love of her family, Elsie Doris Greening passed peacefully from this world at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander on Monday, July 18, 2022. She was 97.

Doris enjoyed life. She was born in Bloomfield, NL on September 19, 1924 to Isabella (nee Humby) and Jesse Peddle.
She married the love of her life, Joseph Greening on June 3, 1942. Together they had 4 children, Nancy, Eugene, Leroy and Sheri.
Her greatest joys were her family and friends, and she loved to cook and knit for them, and “have a yarn” with all of them. Her kindness and sense of humor were well-known to all who knew her.

She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph, her mother and father, Isabella & Jesse Peddle, her son, Eugene Clayton, her brothers, John, Roy, Sylvester, Robert and Joseph, her sisters Nell (Fogwill), Livinia (Brown), Linda (Keats), Annabelle (Peddle) and Gertrude (Holloway), sister-in-laws Ethel, Hilda, Susie and Myrtus, and brother-in-laws Eugene Fogwill, Lymon Brown, James Keats and Clayton Holloway and son-in-law, George Hapgood.

Left with a lifetime of memories are her daughter, Nancy Drover (Randy), son Leroy (Thelma), daughter Sheri Baird (Roger), daughter-in-law Lorraine (Bunny), sister Charlotte, sister-in-laws, Margaret and Daisy, grandchildren, Lori, Brad, Sherri, Laura, Michelle, Kieran and Jordie, great-grandchildren, Heidi, Katie, Christie, Allysa, Brody, Reigan, Brady, Zachary, Chelsea and Freyja, 1 great-great-grandchild, Markus and many other family members and friends too numerous to mention.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Oram’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will take place from 2-4 pm on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Terra Nova United Church in Terra Nova. Masking is preferred by family.

Funeral service with be held at Terra Nova United Church on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
This service is open to anyone wishing to attend. Masking is preferred by family. Interment will be at Terra Nova United Church cemetery.

Flowers are welcome. If anyone wishes, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Doris’s favourite organization that she was a part of for a long time, the Terra Nova Community Workers, or to a charity of their choice.
