Douglas (Doug) Julson Sr. age 79 passed away peacefully in his home on July 2, 2022. He was born May 22, 1943 in Leeds, North Dakota to Vernon and Marie Julson. Father (Vernon), Mother (Marie), Sister (Emily), and Brother (Bryon) preceded him in death. Doug graduated from Bismarck High School in 1961. In July of the same year, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served four active and two inactive years. In 1963 and during active duty, he married his long-time high school sweetheart, best friend, and love Marcia Neibauer. Together, they welcomed the first of five children, daughter Sheila on July 6, 1964, born in Minot, North Dakota. In September of 1965, the family moved to Seattle, Washington where Doug worked in re-fueling operations for Northwest Airlines. It was there Doug and Marcia settled into raising their family; and over the next 9 years, welcomed twins a daughter Darcy and son Doug Jr. (December 30, 1965), daughter Karen (July 31, 1970), and daughter Janine (October 2, 1974). In July of 1967, he received an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force completing his military duty to his country. In 1969, he joined Local 242 Laborers Union where he worked construction for many years. Doug was passionate about his work and was also very involved in the union. He made many friends and earned the respect of his peers and employees during his career. Eventually his 30 + years of working hard labor took a toll on his body. It was then in 1999, Doug retired from construction as a labor superintendent and remained an active union member until his passing. Doug leaves his wife Marcia and family, one and only son Doug Jr. daughters and husbands Sheila and Elton Dickinson, Darcy and Steve Marshall, Karen and Brad Cadle, daughter Janine Cross, and his sister Kathryn Wilson (Steve); ten grandchildren, Jill Clement(Matt), Jeremy Rowden, Brandon Julson, Kayla Culbert (Patrick), Ashley Julson, Luke Cadle, Anna Johnson (Robby), Justin Julson, and Marissa (Christian, future husband) and McKenna Cross; eight great-grandchildren (Jordon Culbert, Abigail Clement, Jacob Culbert, Madelynn Clement, Lilly Culbert, Liberty Clement, Theodore and Benjamin Clement) and many other family members; brother in laws Steve Wilson, Jack and Larry Neibauer, sister in law Anita Bailey, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and never forgetting the overabundance of friendships made over many years. All who knew Doug loved him dearly; they will never forget his love for them, and he should never forget the love they shared for and with him. We will forever deeply miss him.

There will be a full military honors Inurnment at Tahoma National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to the hospice foundation at hospicefoundation.org/donate or to the Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org/donate
