Dennis Roffman Exeter, New Hampshire Obituary

Dennis Roffman

Dennis Roffman loving husband, father and grandfather passed away with his family by his side on July 15, 2022, he was 78 years old. Denny spent his early years in Claremont, NH before moving to Exeter where he fell in love with his wife of 55 years Nancy (Brewer). After attending UNH, he went to graduate school at Penn State University and then, after finishing second to last in his officer training program 😊, he served in the US Army in Korea. After completing his 2-year stint in the Army, Nancy and Denny moved to Tewksbury, MA and started a family. In 1980, they built a home on Nancy’s family property in Kensington, NH in order to be closer to family and be an active part of the close-knit community. Denny spent his career in information technology, spending 25 years of working at Polaroid and finishing his career at the State of New Hampshire Department of Motor Vehicles. Denny had many strengths as a loving husband and an amazing partner to Nancy. Having met as teenagers, they were two peas in a pod that built a full and active life…traveling, gardening, skiing, golfing, entertaining and enjoying every minute together. As a father, he was amazingly supportive and dedicated to whatever pursuits his children chose. He was perhaps most proud of his grandchildren, who he adored and followed wherever their exploits took them, including track meets, dance recitals, baseball and soccer games. Denny was also a loyal and caring friend to many. His commitment to family and friends was matched by his commitment to his community. He volunteered at Saint Vincent de Paul food pantry and TASC where he drove people needing care to medical appointments. As part of his commitment to education and his hometown, Denny served as a Kensington School Board Member and Treasurer of the Kensington Library Social Trustees. His family loved everything about him, even the things that made him uniquely Denny. He was not a classically trained handyman, however with the use of duct tape, glue and imagination he showed things could almost be fixed. If you ask his grandchildren, his driving could be classified as questionable. Nevertheless, when the opportunity to do anything with their grandparents arose, they would don their helmets and seatbelts, take the risk and enjoy every minute! Denny will be deeply missed by wife Nancy; son Eric, daughter-in-law Amanda and grandchildren Zacary & Hannah; son Josh, daughter-in-law Kelleigh and grandchildren Sarah & Kaitlyn; daughter Alison and grandchildren Arianna & Eva; mother-in-law Bernice Brewer; Brother Allen. After a private family burial, a memorial will be held at Sawyer Park (24 Trundlebed Lane, Kensington, NH) on Saturday, July 23rd at 10am.Please dress casually. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Saint Vincent de Paul food pantry (svdpexeter.com).
