Albert “Bert” David Taymans, 84, of Westminster passed away July 15, 2022 at BridgingLife Dove House. Born November 23, 1937 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William and Mildred (Luft) Taymans. He was the husband of Nancy L. Taymans who he married August 13, 1966. Bert was a veteran of the US Army and a graduate of Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois. He worked in Human Resource Management for Westinghouse, Amback and Singer Company. He was active in his community serving as the past president of the St. John School Board and on the St. John Parish Council. He was also a substitute teacher, cafeteria volunteer and coach of St. John girls’ basketball for 22 years. Bert was also a Eucharistic minister and participated in the Big Brother organization. In addition to his wife, Bert is survived by his children Robert Michael (Jill) Taymans of Tampa, FL and Donna Marie Taymans of Westminster; grandchildren Carli and Riley; brother William R. Taymans; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Elizabeth Taymans and Margaret “Michelle” Mowbray. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, MD 21157. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at 11 am at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe Street, Westminster, MD 21157. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Westminster.
