Margaret E. Clark

Exeter, NH Margaret “Peggy” Clark, passed away on July 15, 2022 at the Country Center in Newburyport, MA. She was born on November 12, 1934 in Haverhill, MA, the daughter of the late Thomas A. Maguire and Helen (Morey) Maguire. A resident of Exeter, NH for over 45 years, Peggy grew up in Haverhill, MA, was a graduate of Haverhill High School, and attended Fitchburg State University. A cosmetologist by trade, she taught hairdressing at the Whittier Vocational High School in Haverhill for 42 years and also formerly owned and operated a beauty salon at the Casino on Hampton Beach. Peggy was known to light up the room upon her arrival. Her smile and laughter radiated her surroundings at hockey games, parties and her favorite beach spots. Her presence always ended with laughter and occasionally with someone’s hair being cut. Peggy was a member of St. Michael’s Church, the Women’s Club and Garden Club. She also proudly belonged to the Red Hat Society of Exeter. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially at her cottage at Hampton Beach. She is survived by her two sons Richard Clark III of Exeter, NH; Daniel Clark and his wife Yared De La Sancha of Revere, MA, two grandchildren, Maxwell and Maya Clark De La Sancha; former spouse Richard Clark Jr; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Thomas Maguire and her sister Catherine Dufresne. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 5-7 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 11 AM at St. Michael’s Church, located on 9 Lincoln St. Burial will follow in the Exeter Cemetery. After the Burial Ceremony, there will be a reception to follow at the Old Salt Restaurant in Hampton, NH. All are invited.
