Paul Elijah Pettigrew Obituary

Paul Elijah Pettigrew, a committed member to his friends and family, suffered an untimely death on July 8, 2022.

Paul is survived by his parents, Clara Jones of Absecon, New Jersey, and Oneal Pettigrew of Macon, Georgia; his brother, Lazarus Jones (Benita) of Winterville, Georgia; his sisters, Ceola Chapman of Pleasanville, New Jersey and Caretta Jones of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and others.

Paul was born on April 19, 1955 in Macon, Georgia.  He moved to New Jersey along with his mother and family in 1967 where he attended the Atlantic City public schools.  He graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1974.  Paul also looked to further his education by attending Atlantic Cape Community College (formerly ACC).  Paul spent some time working for the famed Marlborough-Blenheim Hotel in the housekeeping department.

After spending some time in Irvington, New Jersey, Paul worked at one of the local supermarkets before returning to South Jersey.  Upon returning, Paul resided with his sister, Ceola, worked at AC Linen, and frequently visited his mother.  Paul had a passion for painting.  He also loved to stay in shape by working out, and riding his bicycle.

While Paul led a complicated life, he was unconditionally loved by his family, friends and all who knew him.

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.  In the world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
