Bobby “Bob” Don Young, age 80, passed away on July 8, 2022 with his wife by his side. Bob was born on January 9, 1942 in Arlington, TX.

Bob proudly served in the Navy from November 1960 through January 1972 where he was a 1st Class Aviation Electrician. He was in the Vietnam War from 1966 through 1969. Bob served with the World-Famous Fighting Falcons VF-96. Bob was also a Master Mason.

Throughout his career Bob held many jobs in the avionics and electrical fields before joining the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Bob retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV after 29.5 years of service. He was the Chief of Biomedical Engineering.

Over his lifetime Bob enjoyed riding his motorcycles, including 15 different Harley Davidsons. He also loved fishing, building guitars and camping with his wife Beverly.

Bob is survived by his wife of 31 years, Beverly Young; daughters Dana Lea’ (Stuart) Redding, Lindsay (Joe) Russo, Megan (Joshua) Bailey; brother-in-law, Harry Reeves; nephews Rory (Connie) Young, James (Lisa) Reeves; nieces Ronda (Brent) McCullough, Kim (Randy) Droppert, Julie (Evan) Ramspott; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Luther William Young and Helen Marie Young; brother Ronald Dan Young; sister Dana Sue Reeves; and his beloved daughter Donna Marie Young.

Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 15th 2022 at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.

A Memorial service will be held 11a.m. Saturday, July 16th at South Berkeley Chapel with Pastor Nick Robinson officiating.
