Lucien Soucy Obituary

Lucien Joseph Armand Soucy

It is with shattered hearts that the family announces the passing of Lucien Soucy of Ste. Amelie, MB at the age of 76 years.

Lucien was born on March 12, 1946 in Ste. Rose du Lac to Edward and Amelie Soucy (nee Moriaux).  He was the youngest of 6 children; Irma Bradshaw, Bernice Berthelette, Adele Rivard, Louis Soucy and Jim Soucy.

At the age of 17, Dad started working out with construction crews as a heavy equipment operator.

On May 21, 1972, Dad married the love of his life Rosanne in Ste. Amelie.  1973 began with the birth of Claire on March 13th and the purchase of their farm.  On August 16, 1974, their first son Clarence came along, December 15, 1977 they had their second son Noel followed by third son Rene on July 13, 1979.  In 1990, they had a big surprise when their baby girl Jessica was born on December 5th.

Dad worked very hard on his farm when he had cattle and in his hayfield.  When he decided to semi-retire from the Soucy Hay farm, he took in more of what he enjoyed doing.  Dad loved going fishing, hunting and camping with his family.  But most of all he loved going for an evening drive with his beautiful young wife.  Dad also loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great granddaughter.  We can't forget that he loved hanging out and listening to his nephew Gilbert and the Corbels playing guitars and listening to his nieces Susan, Diane, Adele and Yvette sing.

Dad was an active member with the Westlake Wildlife Association.  He enjoyed going to the meetings and banquets.  Dad was involved with measuring big game with the Westlake Wildlife.  Dad was especially proud and excited when one of his family would receive a trophy for the biggest fish and typical or non typical deer heads.

Dad  loved going to the horse races to watch his nephews race in the chariots and chuckwagons.  Dad and Mom would bring their camper to catch some of the races so he could watch his nephews Gilbert and Devon.

But last of all on July 2, 2022 Dad and Mom gave away one of their best gifts they had to their new son-in-law Drew.  We had a good weekend with Dad.  It was full of laughs, dancing, joking and playing a few games of cribbage.

Lucien was predeceased by his parents Edward and Amelie Soucy, his sisters Irma Bradshaw, Bernice Berthelette and Adele Rivard, his brothers Jim and Louis Soucy, his father-in-law Jean Pinette, his sister-in-law Stella Delaurier, her brothers-in-law Charlie Berthelette, Oren Bradshaw, Remi Pinette, Len Knezacek and William Spence.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife Rosanne, his children Claire (Percy), Clarence (Tina), Noel, Rene, Jessica (Drew), his grandchildren Chianne, Erica, Montana, Nicole, William, Allana, Gabriella, Chantelle, Annalyse, Remi, Ayanna,Emma, Coen and one great granddaughter Aurore, his mother-in-law Aurore Pinette, his sisters-in-law Angeline Soucy, Lucille Soucy, Florence Drabble (Rex), Noellie Wiebe (Ken), and Solange Spence, his brothers-in-law Albert Pinette (Linda), Claude Pinette (Viola), Gilles Pinette (Linda), Norman Pinette, Guy Pinette and Wilfred Delaurier.
