TIMOTHY JOHN SPEER

TIMOTHY JOHN SPEER, age 75, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Tim was born on November 11, 1946, in Cleveland, OH to Warren and Mary Jean (nee Wagner) Speer. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Mary Jean, brothers Peter and Michael, sister Amy and brother-in-law Mike. He is survived by his siblings Cecilia Speer, Susan Furth (Fran Martau), Warren Speer (Carol), Paul Speer (Linda), Anne Bielecki, Sara Curtan (John) and his sister-in-law Denise. Dear friend to George Puro (deceased). Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Tim was a kind soul, well known for being incredibly passionate about being with his family, friends and serving his church. He was the master of selling raffle tickets and raising money for a good cause. One of Malley’s Candies best customers always had candy on hand to share and give as a gift. Best known for his love of sports, especially softball and basketball. Tim was a member of the Huff-N-Puffers softball league. He played and served as a manager in the league for many years and was truly loved by everyone who came to know him. He will always be remembered for a smile on his face and the gentle soul he was! Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Saturday, July 16 at St. Clement Church (Lincoln and Madison Ave., Lakewood). Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. FRIENDS MAY CALL IN the McGORRAY-HANNA FUNERAL HOME OF WESTLAKE, 25620 CENTER RIDGE ROAD (west of Columbia Road) on Friday, July 15 from 3-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Clement Church or to St. Clement Church, 2022 Lincoln Avenue, Lakewood, OH 44107.

I played in a Sunday afternoon softball league with Tim for several years. When we crossed paths, he always said hello and asked how I was. He was a very kind man.

Condolences to Cissy, Susan, Brud, Paul, Annie, and Sara. Tim was a great friend and wonderful inspiration and example to me. I know we will be reunited forever at the return of Jesus Christ our Savior.

My husband Bob worked with Tim for the city of Lakewood. I have met Tim through Bob and his sister in law Linda, He was always smiling and friendly. What a great man, he will be missed
