Dallas Snyder Rollins

Dallas Snyder Rollins, 91, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022. He was born in Union County, NC on February 8, 1931, son of the late Hugh Marvin & Naomi Price Rollins. He is also preceded in death by his infant daughter Kimberly Adele Rollins.<br><br>A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Central United Methodist Church Sanctuary, 801 S. Hayne St., Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends and family following the service. <br><br>Dallas is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Martha Baucom Rollins, two daughters; Sheri Trull (Carl Churchman), Sandi Mills (Edward), five sisters; Dottie Blackburn, Brenda Long, Reba Baucom, Marilyn Williams, and Debbie Simpson, three grandchildren; Marshall Trull (Kimberly), Sarah Mills, and Abby Mills.<br><br>Dallas graduated from Wingate Junior College, where he played basketball and baseball. He then joined the Army and was stationed in Alaska during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he attended East Carolina University, graduating with a degree in education in 1958.<br><br>Dallas taught and coached at Unionville and Piedmont High Schools, before transferring to Monroe High School, where he taught U.S. history and driver’s education. He received his master’s degree in education from NC A&T University in 1976.<br><br>Dallas was a faithful member of Central United Methodist Church, where he served for over 50 years as the Sunday School superintendent. He loved all sports, including basketball, baseball, and golf and was an avid Tarheel fan.<br><br>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 801 S.
