Carol A. Lane (McHugh) of Walpole formerly of West Roxbury, passed peacefully on July 8, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 84.  Beloved wife of Gerard R. Lane of 62 years.  Devoted mother of Gerard Lane Jr. of Walpole, Brian Lane and his wife Kathy of Walpole, and Susan Lane of Falmouth.  Loving "Grammy" of James Lane and his wife Karen and the late Justin Lane.  Great grandmother of Lincoln Mack Lane and also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, in laws, and friends.  Funeral from the Alexander F Thomas and Sons Funeral Home 45 Common Street Walpole Wednesday (July 20) at 9:30 followed by a mass of christian burial at St Timothy's Church Norwood at 10:30  Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday  (July 19) from 5-8 at the funeral home.  Internment at The Veterans National Cemetery in Bourne relatives and friends invited.  Carol was a graduate of St. Josephs Academy and Boston State College and from there she became a Boston Public School teacher.  Carol was very proud and active in everything Walpole. Carol served for many years as a strong member of the Walpole Finance Committee as well as an RTM for her precinct. She made strong contributions with the League of Women Voters, including serving as a Board member. She was active with Walpole School PACs and taught for many years with St. Timothy's CCD program.
