Jerry Ronald Boychuk Obituary

Jerry Ronald Boychuk was born on August 24, 1952, in Canora, SK to John Boychuk and Helen Krawetz. He passed on the evening of July 6, 2022, at the Brandon Regional Health Center with his sons by his side. He is pre-deceased by both of his parents along with his older brother Major Robert “Bob” Boychuk. He leaves to mourn, his two sons, Tyler (Melissa) and Tyson (Alison, Grandson, Alex), his stepson Corey Holgate (Jessica, Grandson, Seth), and his stepdaughter Tamara Best (Matthew, Granddaughter, Maddison). He also leaves his siblings, Garry, Connie Forbes (Dave), and Dale (Cindy) along with numerous nieces and nephews, “adopted” children, and other family and friends he held dear.

Jerry was a hard worker. Although his true passion always remained on the family farm or behind the wheel of a semi, he did many things over the course of his years in his life. From working in the diamond mines and trucking in Northern Manitoba at a young age to driving highway coach for various bus lines. From operating a butcher shop in Canora, SK and later, the family farm in Lenswood, MB to logging in Northern Alberta and doing mechanic work as well. But he was always happiest behind the wheel.

What he enjoyed most was spending time with his boys, camping when they could when the boys were young, and in his later years, enjoying more fishing, and quadding. He enjoyed decades of service to the Lions Club, being a part of and serving as Charter Member of multiple clubs. Canora Lions Club, Swan River Lions Club, Birch River Lions Club, Hinton Lions Club, but where he made the most friends and gave the most service was with the Bowsman & District Lions Club. His heart will forever be in that club.

Jerry maintained his sense of humor till the very end, joking with the nurses, and aids. Fibbing to try to get his sons in trouble with the nurses or reciting old cartoons and comedians. Jerry will lovingly, genuinely, sorrowfully, achingly, and joyfully be missed.

As per Jerry’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. The family and close friends will celebrate his life privately. Please feel free to make donations in his name to the Swan Valley Community Foundation Inc. PO Box 1509 Swan River, MB R0L 1Z0, as Jerry’s last wish was to help others in need of the same help he needed. All donations would be greatly appreciated by him and his family.
