Obituary

Stoltz, Kevin Charles
Of Petersburg, Ontario, passed away at the K.W. Campus of Grand River
Hospital on July 7, 2022 in his 63rd year. Loving Husband of Sheli Harbottle
Wallace-Stoltz, Dearest Father of Kent (Natalia) Vancouver BC, Kodi (Karly)
Woodstock, Kelsi & Kiva Sierra. Caring companion for S'More, the family cat.
Sadly missed by brothers Wayne (Rev. Heather), Keith (Jane) all of Listowel
and Marlin (Laurie) of Elmira.
Predeceased by his parents Gerald Garfield and Reta Ileen Stoltz (nee Kurt),
predeceased by sister Lou Ann Brown (Mar. 1985), brother Gerald (Aug.
1992), sisters-in-law Joanne Stoltz (August 2007) and Linda Priest (Sept 2005). Sadly missed by his many
cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members.
Kevin was born in Kitchener, Ontario on January 31st, 1960 to Reta and
Garfield Stoltz. He grew up working on the family dairy farm and graduated
from Fanshawe College on April 30, 1980 for Farm Business Management.
Kevin was an active member in the community within Junior Farmers
(where he met Sheli on June 11, 1978) and then the Petersburg Optimist
club where he served as president from 1993 to 1994.
Kevin worked his own farm, KevShel farms, from Spring 1983 until Spring
2000. After the farm he worked for the Ministry of Transportation keeping
the roads & highways of Southern Ontario safe for everyone to drive
through the winter season. He never minded being out in the cold if it
meant other people could arrive safe and sound.
Kevin returned to the farming community with a new job as a dedicated
employee of Stotesbury Transfer Limited and then James Dale Milk
Transport (now Oxford Milkway) as a Bulk Tank Milk Inspector. He always
went above and beyond the job, whether it was helping with birthing
calves, giving advice on designing barns, feed and rationing, or sharing
advice between producers. Kevin quietly took great pride in helping
everyone he could in any way he could.
Kevin would often spend his summers catching rays at Sauble Beach and
Chesley Lake. You could often find him in the summer basking in the sun
and the company of his family around the family pool.
Kevin loved hockey both on and off the ice attending all his childrens’
games. He DJ’d music for Kent & Kodi’s games and always got the energy of
the crowd up. You could often find him watching Hockey Night in Canada
from his favourite chair. He loved all sports. His infamous hockey parties in
the basement were always talked about for years on end.
Kevin always liked a home-cooked meal and would look forward to Stoltz
Christmas Dinner for a taste of mashed potatoes and roast beef. You could
always find him near the cherry cheesecake for dessert. Christmas season
also meant that his famous light display would be kicked into high gear and
would dazzle anyone who drove past.
Kevin’s favourite vacation destination was Barbados and he got the chance
to go again in January 2020 with his brothers, Keith and Marlin.
He wanted everyone to remember his sense of humor, his jokes, his
kindness, and his everlasting joy of celebrating all parts of life. Kevin’s
memory will live on with all those he’s encountered over the years,
especially in his family of whom he was eternally proud.
Cremation has taken place. Friends and family may call at the Ayr Chapel,
Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 183 Northumberland St. Ayr on Tuesday, July 12,
2022 from 1:03 - 3:01 and 6:31 – 9:01 PM.
A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held at Waterloo Regional
Police Association and Recreation Centre (1128 Rife Road Cambridge, North
Dumfries, ON N1R 5S3) on July 13, 2022 @ 1pm.
Donations to the Canadian Children’s Optimist Foundation for Petersburg
Optimist Club would be appreciated. Online condolences and donations
