Tony L. Sleeper

Dorchester, NH - Tony Lee Sleeper, 63, passed away at home in the early morning hours of June 28, 2022 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Tony was born in Hanover, NH on May 27, 1959, to Marjorie Tibbits and the late Lee Vivian Sleeper. He attended Canaan Elementary School and Mascoma Valley Regional High School. <br><br>As a teenager and well into adulthood, Tony worked alongside his Grandfather John J. Black haying and predominately logging. As a logger, he spent many years chopping, chipping and operating the skidder. He also worked at Northern States Tire in Lebanon, NH, Don Dunkerton Logging in Canaan, NH, Small Engine Technology in Plymouth, NH and spent some time helping his friend Brad Hanley with his plumbing business. His last job was at Precision Lumber, Inc. in Wentworth, NH as a debarker machine operator with 10+ years of service. <br><br>Tony enjoyed feeding the birds and gardening. He loved grilling for family BBQ’s and having campfires every summer weekend with family and friends and his music cranking. Tony enjoyed cooking for the holidays. He took pride in decorating inside and out, especially for Christmas in memory of his sister, Vicky whom loved Christmas very much. He was skilled at tinkering on small engines and fixed up numerous four wheelers, mini bikes and snowmobiles for his children to enjoy throughout the years. <br>Tony was predeceased by his father, Lee Vivian Sleeper; sister, Vicky Sleeper; maternal grandmother, Lora Remick Black; maternal grandfather, Harold Tibbits; paternal grandmother, Ada Sleeper; paternal grandfather, Lee Victor Sleeper; and mother-in-law, Marjorie Carter. <br><br>He is survived by his mother, Marjorie Tibbits; his loving wife of 32 years (together 37 years), Cindy Carter Sleeper; his children, Ryan and Brittany Sleeper; sister, Lisa Sleeper Cantlin; father-in-law, Richard Carter; sister-in-laws Cheryl Carter and Lisa Carter; nephews, Corey and Cody Cantlin; nieces, Michelle and Heather Sanborn; and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. <br><br>A very special thanks to Maryellen, Kat and team from Visiting Nurse and Hospice for Vermont and New Hampshire (VNH). <br><br>Per Tony’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private burial will be held for immediate family at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Rumney, NH. <br><br>A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 23rd 12-3pm at the Dorchester Town Hall 24 Town House Rd Dorchester, NH 03266. <br><br>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tony’s memory to VNH, P.O. Box 881 Brattleboro, VT 05302, or www.vnhcare.org/donate, to the charity of your choice.

As a teenager and well into adulthood, Tony worked alongside his Grandfather John J. Black haying and predominately logging. Per Tony’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private burial will be held for immediate family at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Rumney, NH.
