Raymond Doucette Obituary

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Dad, Grandfather and best friend, Raymond Gaston Doucette.  Born December 11, 1933 in Trois Rivérs, Quebec, the 7th child to Joseph and Marie-Louise Doucette.

From humble beginnings Dad moved to Manitoba where he worked in the nickel mine in Thompson.  He then moved to The Pas where he met and married our mother, Antonette Plank in 1958.  On a farm in the Carrot Valley they raised four children, Gerald, Suzanne, Randall and Janet from 1958 to 1972 where they moved to the Westray farm.  As life should have it their marriage did not survive the test of time and divorce was inevitable.

Dad met and married Marion Kornik and continued to farm and loved life until Dad retired at the age of 65 years.  Dad and Marion sold the Westray farm and moved to a little hobby farm in Minitonas where they enjoyed life for many years to come.  They made many friends and fond memories.  Dad loved to join in on playing floor curling and winning games.  He was an expert playing crib with a passion and challenged anyone who dared to take him on.  He won most games!  He also used his time in the mornings beating the devil at Solitaire!

Dad was predeceased by his beloved wife Marion July 1, 2022, and his oldest son Gerald August 15, 2019.  He leaves to mourn his children Suzanne, Randy, Janet (Jason), step children Randy (Diane) and Sheldon (Karen), grandchildren Christine (Clint), Sarah, Brandi, Ron (Caughleigh), Dan (Cherry), Rob (Karley), Justin (Ashley), Brodie, Hanna, Ashton (Mark), Cody and Shay, Jason, Janice, Chanse, Cora, Randall, Heidi, and Holly.  Along with many great grandchildren, family and friends.

A celebration of Raymond's life was held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. from Pathways Funeral Services Tribute Room, Wayne Olson officiated.

Should friends so desire, donations in Raymond's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, or to Cancer Care Manitoba
