HANOVER – Adella L. (Lecrone) McWilliams, “Dollie,” age 89, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2022 at her home. She was the loving wife of the late Floyd D. McWilliams who passed away in 2018; together they shared 67 years of marriage. Adella was born in York on January 23, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Harvey and Alice (Catherine) Lecrone. She was a homemaker when her children were young and was later employed by and retired from the Spring Grove Area School District. She loved her job as a custodian, as she was happiest when caring for others. She enjoyed gardening, and sitting on her porch watching the wildlife, especially the hummingbirds. She also loved cooking, baking, gardening, reading, sewing and long car rides, and cherished the time she spent with her loving family. Adella is survived by her children Floyd (Dave) D. McWilliams, Jr. and wife Cecilia of York Springs, Karl E. McWilliams and fiancé Donna Weaver of Hanover, Sharon L. Forry and husband Richard of Spring Grove, Jacquelyn E. Redding of McSherrystown, Gary D. McWilliams of Hanover, Karen A. Leese and husband Scott of Hanover, Jo Anne Anderson and husband David of Felton, James A. McWilliams and wife Karen of East Berlin, and Paula R. Pascoe and husband Edward of Hanover; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Adella was preceded in death by her son, Barry L. McWilliams who passed away in 2000. A Funeral Service in celebration of Adella’s life will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Murphy-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, PA 17344. She will be laid to rest following the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Spring Grove. A viewing will be held from 12:00PM – 1:00PM on Friday at the funeral home.
