SCHLIFKE- Carolyn M. (nee Doster)
April 5, 1929 to July 1, 2022. Wife of the late Jack A. Schlifke; mother of Mark (Carolann), Karl (Mary) and Brian (Patricia) Schlifke; grandmother of Chad (Jennifer) Schlifke; great-grandmother of Arianna; daughter of the late Norman and Rose Doster; sister of Jean Hilburger and the late Ronald and Ralph Doster; also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

No prior visitation. Private Services held at the convenience of the family.

Born in Buffalo, Mrs. Schlifke was a resident of the Village of Williamsville and a parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Church for 71 years. She attended St. Matthews Catholic School and graduated from Girls Vocational School in 1947. She retired from bookkeeping in 1997.

Mrs. Schlifke was extremely active in the community. She was a Member of St. Ann’s Sodality, the Prayer Shawl Ministry where she knitted a substantial number of shawls for the sick, established the Gardening Committee and helped at many functions such as the Clothing Exchange.

She was a past Williamsville Board Member, where she obtained Grants to finish the Meeting House, build a new pavilion in Island Park, was involved in the development of the Lehigh Memorial Trail and helped establish the Village Hall and Hutchinson Hose Fire Hall.

She was also on the Williamsville Traffic and Safety Committee, a member of the Williamsville Board of Appeals, and Planning Board, the Chairperson of Williamsville Parks Committee where she helped run the Savor the Flavor and Craft shows to raise money to improve Williamsville Parks, Treasurer and Membership Chairperson for the Williamsville Historical Society, and a Member of the Community Development Committee which set up a 20-year plan for the Village.

Mrs. Schlifke received several Proclamations from the Village of Williamsville and received the Erie County Citizen of the Month Award in 2018.

She was a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan and attended two Super Bowls. Her other hobbies included gardening, sewing, reading, Dominoes and visiting with friends.
