Josephine Harrell Obituary

Josephine Harrell, 93, of North Vernon, passed away on July 4, 2022, at her residence.

Born October 6, 1928, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Twanetta (Weddle) Steinbarger. She married Gene Edwin Harrell on June 17, 1948, in Franklin; he preceded her in death.

Josephine graduated from Franklin High School in 1946. She worked as a state driving examiner for the State of Indiana for fourteen years before retiring in 1993. Her pure joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Holly Reynolds of North Vernon and Cynthia Jean Easter and her husband, Dr. P. Bruce Easter of Sanibel, Florida; grandchildren, Joel Edward Matern of Whiteland, Tyler Gene Davis and his wife, Kalena (Sandlin) Davis of North Vernon, James Ryan Easter of Springfield, Illinois, and Alison Jo (Easter) Mendenhall and her husband, Andrew Mendenhall of Whitestown; and great grandchildren, Alana Rae Mendenhall, Anson James Mendenhall, and Archer Gene Mendenhall, all of Whitestown, and Jonah Matern of of Whiteland.

She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband; her brother, William Steinbarger; her twin sister, JoAnn Privett and her sister, Mary Woessner.

Cremation is planned with private family services to be held. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon were entrusted to the care of these arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made in Josephine’s honor through the funeral home to the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
