Garth John Hudson Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Garth John Hudson, age 50, on July 4, 2022 in the Halifax Infirmary site with his family by his side. Born May 30, 1972 in Halifax to John and Connie Hudson.

Garth is survived by his son, Colten (Rachel) Hudson; sisters, Heather (Brian) Travis; Shelley Hudson; nephews, Mitchell and Blake (Meghan) Travis; Colten's mother, Trina Murphy, and several cousins. Garth was predeceased by parents John and Connie Hudson.

Garth was a great friend to so many and they knew he would always have their backs. They also knew that they only thing stronger than his friendships was his love of the family.

Garth was a force, you loved him or hated him, but you never forgot him. He loved old country music, 80's rock, Jack Daniels, Nascar and football (Go Texans!). Nothing made him happier than hanging in his garage with his buddies, watching UFC or nonsense, spending time in Country Harbour, and time with his family.

The family is grateful for the compassionate care over the past three years of Dr. Lori Wood, his nurse Donna and all the staff at the Nova Scotia Cancer Center.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 6, 5:00 - 8:00 in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Upper Tantallon. Service will be held 11 am Friday July 8 in St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 2553 St. Margaret's Bay Road, Timberlea. Reception to follow.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society

Have a shot of Jack, and listen to some Waylon in his memory.
