While attending school, his parents had him actively involved in Jack and Jill of America, Inc., Boy Scouts of America, the Albany Urban League, Merry Acres Junior, and Albany High School Bands. He also participated on the schools’ teams as a leading starting player in basketball and football, both in junior and high schools. He attended Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina where he received his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in Business Administration in 1983.
