Philomena C. Cobino Obituary

Philomena C. Cobino, 82, a lifelong resident of Avon, passed away July 2, 2022. She was born at home in Avon to the late Elena C. (DeCaro) Cobino and Aurelio Cobino, natives of Italy, she of Naples and he of Avellino. Philly graduated from Avon High School with honors in 1957 and began a long career in customer service for Brockton Edison-Eastern Utilities. She remained in her childhood home in Avon all her life until her passing.

Her beloved late sister Elena P. Cobino resided with her always and they traveled the world happily together. Philly loved animals, TV, crossword puzzles, eating at good restaurants, and spending summers at her Dennisport cottage. She was grateful for the care and love poured out to her during her illness, found strength in her faith during the loss of her loved ones and her health challenges, and felt blessed by her charitable giving. As beloved “Aunt Philly" to many, she leaves one sister Mary Donovan of Brockton and her extended family, several close cousins and many cherished friends.

All are welcome to calling hours Friday July 8th from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton, her funeral Mass at 12 noon at St. Michael Church and burial at St. Michael Cemetery, both in Avon.
