James Carl Davis, a resident of St. Francisville, died on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at his home. He was 79 years old and was retired from James River Corporation with 37 ½ years of service. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Mt. Carmel Catholic Church Hall from 11am until 12pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 12pm conducted by Fr. Brad Doyle. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Catholic Church Cemetery, St. Francisville. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia R. Davis. A daughter, Lisa D. Gilly and husband, Leigh and son, Michael C. Davis and wife, Donna. 2 sisters, Catherine Deshotel and husband, Marty and Carol Swinney and husband, Bill. 5 grandchildren, Dylan (Aubrey) Davis, Hunter (Elizabeth) Davis, Reed Davis, Josie Gilly and Davis Gilly. A great granddaughter, June Davis. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Josephine Davis and father in law and mother in law, Dale and Deena Fisher. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy D’Aquilla, Jesse Means, Butch Kerr, Jack Brownhill and Al Osterberger. Jim was a member of St. Francisville Jaycees and Past President. He was an original member of St. Francisville Lions Club. He coached Dixie Youth and Babe Ruth baseball for 15 years and coached the 1984 Feliciana All Star team. Jim served as Shop Stewart and Financial Secretary at Local 927. He was Town Alderman for 28 years. He loved to spend time with family and friends and weekly lunches with his 1962 Classmates. Jim enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved LSU and the New Orleans Saints.<br>April 29, 1943 - July 3, 202204/29/194307/03/2022
