Roy Andrew “Andy” Neal, age 66, of Sanford, NC, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022 at home, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Lee County, NC on January 21, 1956 to the late Roy William Neal and Elsie Mae Beal Neal.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert “Mousie” Neal.  Andy was the owner and operator of Sandhills Ice and was affectionally known as “The IceMan”.  More than anything he loved the Lord and his family.

He is survived by his wife Kim Harris Neal; children Roy A. Neal Jr., “Drew” & wife Becky of Sanford; Meredith N. Sercy and husband Derrick of Sanford; grandchildren Nathan Neal, Eli Neal, Max-Andrew Sercy, Tenley Sercy, Lillian Sercy and an adopted grandson, Conner Bridges.  He is also survived by brother David Neal of Sanford; sister Phyllis N. Mentel and husband Bill of Oak Island, NC; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Solid Rock Community Church with a memorial service following at 3:00 PM with Pastor Brad Marona officiating.  A private burial of Andy’s cremains will follow at a later date at Buffalo Cemetery.
