Jeannette M. Benjamin September 26,1935 – July 1, 2022 Portsmouth - Jeannette M. Benjamin of Portsmouth, was born on September 26, 1935 in South Berwick, Maine. A resident of Portsmouth since 1948 and a graduate of Portsmouth High School in 1952. She worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone from 1953 to 1962. She retired from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1995 after 11 years as a Communications Operator. She then went on to work at Portsmouth Regional Hospital for 9 years in telecommunications while retiring in September of 2003. She loved her flower gardens and was an avid bowler in her younger years. Survivors include 3 sons, Mark Benjamin and his wife Jackie of Milton, NH, Gary Benjamin and his wife Wanda of Somersworth, NH, and Glen Benjamin of Portsmouth, NH; two grandsons, Wayne Benjamin and Tom Benjamin and his wife Emilie; two step-grandchildren, Annie Croteau and Mychal Croteau and his fiancé Kimberly Pike and a step-great grandson, Lincoln Croteau; several nieces and nephews and a good friend and caregiver, Arlene Kelley of Kittery, Maine. She was predeceased by a brother, Harold Sullivan, and also her parents Harold J. and Helen Sullivan. At her request, there will be no visiting hours and a private family service only. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
