<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:16px;">Herbert Wallace, 85, of Hamburg, died on Friday, July 1, 2022, at the Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. Mr. Wallace was a native of Wilmot, a resident of Hamburg for the past 75 years, a 1956 graduate of Hamburg High School, and a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a Millwright for Georgia-Pacific, having retired after 41 years. Mr. Wallace was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, taught Sunday school for 60 years, sang in the church choir and was a member of the Son-Lites Quartet for over 20 years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, having received his 50-year pin, a member of the Hamburg Prairie Lodge #465, the Margaret Chapter #151 Order of the Eastern Star, and the Crossett #303 Order of the Eastern Star. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and working. &nbsp;Mr. Wallace was a devoted husband, and was lovingly known as &ldquo;Papa Bear&rdquo; to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.</span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:16px;">He is preceded in death by a grandson, Jon Wallace in 2016; his parents, Louis and Rachel Tubbs Wallace; a sister, Ruby Hopkins and a brother, Marvin Louis Wallace.</span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:16px;">He is survived by his wife of 65 &frac12;&nbsp; years, Charlie Mae Land Wallace; two sons, Don Wallace (Lisa), Kieth Wallace (Shirlene Rogers); a sister, Barbara Wilcoxon (James), all of Hamburg; a brother, Andrew Wallace (Judy)&nbsp;of Crossett; three grandchildren, Sara Hawkins (Mark)&nbsp;of Konawa, Oklahoma, Klent Wallace and fiance, Lauren Gwin, of Hamburg and Shea Wallace and fiance, Skylar Maxwell, of Fort Worth, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Kaden Branscum, Carson Helseth, Rylie Helseth, and Branch Wallace and a special friend and work partner for over 32 years, Jimmy Carpenter.&nbsp;</span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:16px;">Funeral services are 2 p.m., Sunday, July 3, 2022, at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Richard West and Bro. Jerry Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Promise Land Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jon Ballard, Chance Wallace, Sammy Wallace, Kaden Branscum, Michael Wallace, Keith Erwin, and Billy Don Cecil. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Carpenter, Rita Travis, Steve Travis, Jami Cecil, Billy Bell, Margie Upshaw, and Mike Loveday. Memorials may be made to the Hamburg High School FFA Scholarship Fund, c/o Emily Wisner, 202 E. Parker Street, Hamburg, AR 71646, or to the Hamburg Masonic Lodge Scholarship Fund, c/o Tim Collier, 521 W.
