Walter George Sisco

Sisco, Walter” Wally” George, age 84 passed away June 30,2022 in Veterans Place Yarmouth. Born in Yarmouth he was a son to the late George and Mary (Deveau) Sisco. Wally was a stevedore at the Bluenose Terminal in Yarmouth for many years, also working at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital and Tidal View Manor in housekeeping before his retirement. His true passion was golf. He was well known in the Yarmouth and surrounding areas as “The Legend” in golf. He spent many long hours on the golf course and enjoyed every minute. At the age of 80 he was still getting holes in one. Wally is survived by his loving companion, Carrie Moore; sons, Michael (Andrea Curry) New Minas; Gary, British Columbia; grandchildren, Joey and Kaicee; great grandchildren, Sebastian and Ursula. Aside from his parents he was predeceased by his daughter, Linda; two brothers, Ralph and Murray. <br>A memorial service will be Tuesday, July 5,2022 at 11 a.m. from the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor David Hockley officiating. There will be a live stream of the service on the Sweeny’s Funeral Home website for those who are unable to attend. Interment to take place in the Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Family flowers only, in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Yarmouth Food Bank. My condolences to Wally’s family. Fred had many warm memories of the brief time he worked at the terminal with Wally. They certainly found ways to inject humour in their days. May your memories be a comfort.
