<p><br /> Mrs. Shirley Mae Ames&nbsp;transitioned Saturday, July 2,&nbsp; 2022 at Coliseum Nursing and Rehab Center, Hampton, VA.&nbsp; Shirley was born in Exmore, Va. on June 23, 1943 to the late Charlie Dozier and Dorothy M. Harmonson.&nbsp; She was educated in Northhampton County Schools.&nbsp; She met and married the late Howard Ames in 1960.&nbsp;</p> <p>Shirley loved making crafts, especially gifts baskets for every occasion.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p><br /> She is survived by her four children Charlene Clark (Stevie), Shelley Ames, Regina Ames (John), Howard Ames (Quayana). Ten grandchildren Marcellous Mapp (Shayvonda), Charnell Clark, Steven Clark, Howard, Nia, NehemYAH, SuraYAH, AnaiYAH, ShemaYAH, YAHriel Ames and Three great-grandchildren Kamari, JaKari, A&#39;Honest Mapp and a host of family and friends.</p> <p><br /> It is the desire of the Ames&nbsp;&nbsp;family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The family Mrs. Shirley Mae Ames&nbsp;&nbsp;has entrusted his&nbsp;final care to C.C. Mrs. Shirley Mae Ames transitioned Saturday, July 2,  2022 at Coliseum Nursing and Rehab Center, Hampton, VA.  Shirley was born in Exmore, Va. on June 23, 1943 to the late Charlie Dozier and Dorothy M. Harmonson.  She was educated in Northhampton County Schools.  She met and married the late Howard Ames in 1960. 

Shirley loved making crafts, especially gifts baskets for every occasion.
