The family of Mary Theresa Campbell, Grand Lake Road, Sydney, announces her passing on June 30, 2022, at the Glace Bay Hospital.

Born October 31, 1929, and resident of her birth homestead until her passing. She was the daughter of Daniel and Mary (Martin) MacKie.

She is survived by her children, daughter, Pat Muggah (Dave); sons, Jimmie (Ann Marie), Ray (Linda), Dannie (Margaret); grandchildren, Tracey, Shawn, Christopher, Suzanne, Ashley, Tian Campbell and John Muggah; twelve great-grandchildren; nd a sister, Maurina Shoemaker, Kitchener, ON.

Predeceased by her husband, Jim “JJ” in 2008; sisters, Georgie, Margie, Isabel; brothers, John, Tom, Daniel, and Emmanuel. She will be missed by all the international students attending CBU she has hosted over the past 20 plus years, especially Amanda at home and Sanny, Vancouver. She has been a second mother and confidant to them all.

Mary had a passion for playing cards, and enjoyed travelling. She was involved with many Bowling leagues over the years and made the best apple pies.

A special thank you to the nursing staff of 3 west during her short stay at GBGH and Dale Turner of Glace Bay Pharmasave for his dedicated support for Mary.

There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place under the direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. A reception will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5 at the Pensioners Club, 165 Main Street, Reserve Mines for family and friends.
