A Funeral Service for Charles Keith Hill, age 62, of Newark, formerly of Inglewood, California will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5 at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, with Pastor Wes Humble officiating.

Charles passed away on June 30, 2022. He was born on June 10, 1960 in Detroit, Michigan to Charles V. Hill and Mary Francis (Eugene) Collins.

He was a graduate of Inglewood High School with class of 1978. He retired from The Department of Defense in 2017 with over 36 years of service as a civilian supervisor. He was a great man who will be remembered by his family for his strong-willed, competitive and fun personality. He raised five children and was specifically proud and supportive of each of them. He married Lisa K. Doll on April 13, 2002. Together they enjoyed cooking and watching sports, such as baseball and football - always sharing a competitive rivalry.

He enjoyed listening to all types of music, his favorite being jazz. He liked his occasional Jim Beam and looked forward to spending time watching Judge Judy and Judge Mathis on television. Charles was a nationally ranked table tennis player.

Charles is survived by his wife, Lisa K. (Doll) Hill; his mother, Mary Francis Collins; five children, Hauson (Soccora) Ellis, Chankara (Rose) Montano, Zachary Doll, Information Technician Second Class Petty Officer Charles K. Hill and Chad (Alexis) Hill; one sister, Kerri Hill; one brother, Kevin Collins; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marilyn and David L. Doll and several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charles V. Hill; step-father, Eugene Collins and brother-in-law, David J. Doll.

Friends and family may call from 2-4 p.m. the same day of the service, Tuesday, July 5 at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 N. Fifth Street, Newark.

An additional Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Inglewood, California.
