Gary Hyre

Raymond, NH Gary Lee Hyre, of Raymond, NH, passed away at age 82 on June 29, 2022 at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born in Weston, WV on February 7, 1940, son of the late Mary Louise Hyre and Frederick “John” Riggs. After graduating from high school, Gary joined the United States Air Force and honorably served from 1957 to 1964. He met the love of his life Joyce in 1962 and they married 10 days later and resided in Raymond where they raised their three children. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, going to their camp in Columbia NH, and woodworking. Gary worked at General Electric in Hooksett, NH for 32 years and retired in 1999. Gary was the owner of Hyre’s Saw Sharpening in Raymond, and the executive producer of Hyre Sounds. Gary also was a volunteer fireman for the Raymond Fire Department for many years and an active member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Nottingham, NH. In addition to his parents, Gary was predeceased by his granddaughter Leeann Bergeron and his brother Bill Morris. Gary is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce Carole (Porter) Hyre, his son, Dan and daughter-in-law Barb Hyre of Greenville, SC; daughters, G.G. and son-in-law Steve Cronin of Easley, SC and Jayne and son-in-law Clay Bergeron of Raymond, NH. His grandchildren Chris and wife Ashley Hyre, Ashlynne Urdiales and partner Ashley Miller, Nate Hyre and partner Lisa Piasecki, Jonathan Hyre, Matt Cronin, Destiny Bergeron, Jason Cronin, Tiffani Cronin, Mike Bergeron, Kerri Bergeron, Chrissy Bergeron, Ashlee Pike; great-grandchildren Aiden Skelding, Katie Hyre, Jaxon Hyre, Angela Hyre, Colton Hyre, Melissa Hyre, Nathan Hyre Jr., Leeland Harris, Kaylee Harris, Aria Bergeron and Avery Bergeron. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Elsie Porter, his brother, Robert and wife Gloria Morris; his sister, Robin M. Marsh; as well as several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be on Sunday, July 3, 2022, from 12 noon to 1:00 PM, at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 2 Epping St., in Raymond. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM at the New Pine Grove Cemetery, Epping St., Raymond.
