Mary B. Reed, 77, of Newfield passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at her home.  She was born on April 29, 1945 in New Gloucester, Maine to William and Alice (Loring) Kiley.  Mary grew up in Limerick, Maine and attended local schools then married Arthur Reed and moved to their lifelong residence in Newfield.

 

In her early years Mary gracefully raised her children while also working at area shoe production facilities.  She had a passion for travel in which she pursued every chance she had.

 

Her free spirit later took her to Florida for a while spending time with her sister Jo as well as working a short time at Disney World before returning and settling back home to spend the rest of her years care giving others both and young and old alike that meant so much to her.

 

She was a free spirit, loving, thoughtful, protective, giving, compassionate and when possible always on the go.

 

She was predeceased by her parents, William and Alice Kiley, Arthur Reed, son, Phillip Reed and sister Jo Lashua.

 

Mary is survived by her son, William Reed, son, Scott Reed and wife, Tracy, grandson, Ryan Reed, granddaughter, Heather Reed, brother, William Kiley, sister, Stell (husband Dick) Mooney, brother, George (wife Marge) Kiley, sister, Patricia Hussey, brother, Robert Kiley, sister, Betty Graffam, brother, Ernest (wife Sue) Kiley as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

A graveside gathering with family and friends will be held at the Maplewood Cemetery, 578 Maplewood Road in Parsonsfield, Maine. (date and time to be determined and updated when scheduled)
