R. Lynn Hickman, 76, of Williamstown, WV went home to be with Lord September 6, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Lynn was born January 2, 1941 to Earl I. and Selma Hickman in Salem, WV. He married the love of his life, Judith A. Nicholson on June 1st, 1959. He worked briefly for Southern States in West Union, then the couple moved to Parkersburg where Lynn began his dedicated service of employment at Marbon/Borg Warner/ G.E. Plastics. Lynn worked thirty-eight years, retiring in 2001. He was an active member of Peoples Church of Boaz, where he served as an Elder. He was in charge of the church's food pantry; a ministry of compassion that he was perfectly suited for. Surviving are Lynn's wife, Judy, of fifty-eight years; his four children Terry Hickman (Veronica), Debbie Pickens, Mark Hickman (Brenda), and Michelle Helm (Michael); grandchildren Dallas Hickman, Erika Leasure (Buddy), Kasey and Rachel Hickman, Jessica Freed, Jeremy Hickman, and Matthew, Ryan, Christina, and Lauren Helm; great grandchildren Landon, Laken, and Lily, who especially brightened his life; sisters Evon Allen and Karen East (Bob); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Norma Nicholas (Victor), Bob Hickman (Pat), Earl "Bud" Hickman, Cloretta Lee, and Dallas E. Hickman. Services will be Saturday 11:00 AM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Rick Kapple officiating, assisted by Pastors Randy Dornon and Mark Hickman. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown, WV. The family will receive friends Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
