<section id="obit-text" class="obit-text"> <p style="text-align: center;">Joyce Yvonne Edwards</p> <p style="text-align: center;">July 1, 1948 &ndash; April 3, 2022</p> <p style="text-align: center;">Resident of Arnold, CA, Formerly of Alameda, CA</p> <p>Joyce Yvonne Edwards, affectionately known as Nana to her grandchildren, passed away on Sunday April 3rd.&nbsp; She fought a painfully hard battle but ultimately succumbed to pancreatic cancer. Joyce had such a strong, loving, caring heart, and she touched so many lives.</p> <p>Joyce, born in Oakland, CA was raised and lived the majority of her life in the East Bay Area. She attended All Saints Catholic School in Hayward, Hayward High and Mission San Jose High School in Fremont, CA.&nbsp; Joyce worked in retail and wholesale sales in the floral industry but her primary focus in life revolved solely around her family, and nothing gave her greater joy than being together with family. There were no &ldquo;simple&rdquo; weekend dinners, because Nana put all her love into every meal. Joyce was also a master planner of great family vacations. Whether it was Maui, Europe, Australia, the East Coast, or a fabulous holiday at the cabin, Joyce always made it special and perfect in every way.</p> <p>Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Bruce; devoted children Braxton of Folsom, Brittney Bridges (Greg) of Alameda and grandchildren, Kyle Bridges (Brooke) of Linda, Carson and Caroline Bridges of Alameda. She is also survived by her sisters Jennifer Foreman (Steven) of San Francisco and Jeanne Shiells (Bob) of Danville and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins throughout California and Minnesota.&nbsp; Her kind, generous, loving spirit and joyfulness will be deeply missed by all.
