Shirley A. (Tibbetts) Burt, 81, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at CareOne at Redstone, East Longmeadow, MA.  Shirley was born in Athol, MA to the late Nathan and Muriel (Kane) Tibbetts.  She was a lifelong resident of Springfield, MA.  Shirley graduated from the Springfield High School of Commerce and the University of New Hampshire (B.S. in Human Services).  She worked as the director of transportation for the Springfield Dial a Van; golden age and persons with disabilities, and the MA Department of Developmental Services.  She volunteered as a trustee on the Board of the MA Multiple Sclerosis Society, United Cerebral Palsy of Western MA, and the South End Action Committee Citizens Council.  Shirley is survived by her daughters Lynn Walsh-Lopez (Edward), Diana Walsh (Roland Demaio), and son Michael Walsh.  Grandchildren Edward Lopez, Breanna Benoit, and Noah Walsh.  Great grandchildren Domenick, Gabrielle and Benjamin Benoit.  A brother James Tibbetts, sisters Rosemary Stanek, and Pamela Bourque, and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by husbands Randall F. Burt and Francis P. Walsh, sisters Barbara Tibbetts, Kathryn Beamen, and Beverly Bergeron.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Autism Connections, Pathlight Group www.pathlightgroup.org or JDRF CT/Western MA chapter connecticutwestma@jdrf.org.  Private funeral services will be held for family and close friends.
