<section id="obit-text" class="obit-text"> <p>Paul Samuel &ldquo;Sam&rdquo; Bush, 93, of Scottsburg, IN, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 5:58 A.M. at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY.</p> <p>Sam was born on Sunday, February 17, 1929, in Mumfordsville, KY. He was the son of Virgil Elza Bush and Fannie Bell (Shaw) Bush.</p> <p>Sam served in the United States Army. After serving his country, he worked at the American Can, as a firefighter at Standifer Field in Louisville, KY, and at the Charlestown Fire Department, in the maintenance department at Cummins for 30 years and eventually retired from there. He also built over 40 houses during his career.</p> <p>Sam was married to the love of his life, Phyllis A. (Collings) Bush who preceded him on death on June 6, 2019.</p> <p>He was a member of the Murat Shriners, Scottsburg Masonic Lodge #572, Scottsburg Moose Lodge #2324, and was a big supporter of St. Jude Children&rsquo;s Research his whole life.</p> <p>Survivors include 2 siblings, Larue (Virgie) Bush of Charlestown, IN, Lottie (Brick) Sentz of Crothersville, IN, a sister-in-law, Marcia Bush, brother-in-law, Glen Henry, and many nieces and nephews.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Elza Bush and Fannie Bell (Shaw) Bush, wife, Phyllis A. (Collings) Bush, and daughter, Teresa (Bush) Fisher on October 21, 1976, siblings, James Robert Bush, Elza Bush, Earl &ldquo;Bud&rdquo; Bush, Fanny Henry.</p> <p>Family and friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Adams Family Funeral Homes &amp; Crematory in Scottsburg. Paul Samuel “Sam” Bush, 93, of Scottsburg, IN, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 5:58 A.M. at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY.
