Karen Ray (Miller) Ramsey, 71, of Henryville, IN, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at 5:35 PM at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN. 

Karen was born on Thursday, January 11, 1951 in Glasgow, KY to Bub Nelan & Nancy (Duval Neeley) Miller.

Karen was a 1969 Charlestown High School class graduate. After high school, she went to Sullivan Business College and graduated with an accounting degree. Later in life, she graduated from Galen College of Nursing.

Karen worked at the Army & Air Force Exchange Services from 1971-1991 and for the family business, Ramsey Plumbing, for 30+ years doing their accounting.

On June 6, 1970 in Horsecave, KY at the Church of Christ, Karen married Romie L. Ramsey. Due to Karen’s passing, they were 1 day short of celebrating their 52 year anniversary.

Karen was a member at the Church of Christ in Horse Cave, KY. She was an excellent cook and everyone always requested her to cook their favorite dishes. She enjoyed reading romance novels, playing cards, collecting crystal glass & derby glasses, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and camping with them at Nolin Lake.

She is survived by her loving husband, Romie L. Ramsey of Henryville, IN, 2 children, Carrie Ann (Dale) Hinson of Rockville, VA, Jeremy L. Ramsey of Henryville, IN, 3 grandchildren, Shyan M. (Patrick) Watts of Clarksville, IN, Miles T. Hinson of Rockville, VA, and Addison B. Hinson of Rockville, VA, 2 great grandchildren, Zaylee N. Watts and Kinsley Grace Watts, 5 siblings, Kasandra (Carl) Ramsey of Greenville, IN, Kathy Joe (Jessie) McPherson of Shepherdsville, KY, Debra Hotka of Elizabethtown, KY, Gary Miller (Eileen) of Charlestown, IN, and Michael (Debra) Miller of Elizabethtown, KY, along with numerous brother and sister in laws, nieces, and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bub Nelan & Nancy (Duval Neeley) Miller. 

Gary Thompson will conduct funeral services on Thursday, June 9th, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Henryville funeral home.

Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday June 8th, 2022 and on Thursday, June 9th, 2022 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, all at Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in Henryville, IN.
