Norma E. (Kinney) Guernsey, 92, passed away on Friday, June 3, at Hickory Creek in Scottsburg, due to complications from Alzheimer’s. She was born in Bloomington Indiana on December 3,1929, to Virginia L. (Shields) Kinney, Ernest L. Kinney. Norma was the beloved wife of Ivan L. Guernsey, Sr., and Mother to Ivan Jr., Chris (Sue), and Jeff (Tammy Burke). She loved gardening, drawing, painting, wood carving, embroidery, and brought much happiness with her voice, in song. She had an infectious laugh, and brightened anywhere she was present. She was a Christian, by faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ivan and three brothers; Mark, Dennis, and Gary Kinney, and her granddaughter, Virginia Lynn Lewellen. She’s survived by her sister, Sharon Krallman-Barker (Cleon), her sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Norma loved her family and will be missed by all who knew her. There will be a graveside service at Mt. Zion Cemetery, in Henryville IN, on Monday, June 6 at 11AM, that is open to everyone. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Mt. Zion Cemetery.
