Denise Geary

Denise Geary, 58, of Michigan City, passed away peacefully at 1:56 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso. She was born June 8, 1964, in Gary, Indiana, to Tommie Geary and Margarette Crowley. Denise was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother. She took great pride in taking care of her family, especially for the grandchildren. Denise was creative in coming up with ways for the family to have fun activities to do. Her children remember the times they spent with her at Chellburg Farm and at the beach while the family lived in Chesterton. She previously worked as a Bank Manager at TCF Bank, Michigan City and formerly was employed for Chicago Cold Rolling, and Parco Foods in Michigan City. Surviving are her two children, Christina Porter of Wanatah and Richard (Rachel) Blount of Mooresville; three siblings, Tammie (Bernie) Collinsworth of Hollywood, FL, Tommie Geary of South Haven, and Vickie Gill of Michigan City; step sister, Jill Childers of Portage; half-sister, Sarah Porter of South Whitley; nine grandchildren, Jordyn Pryor, Aleena Porter, Daxton Porter, Brantley Porter, Isabella Blount, Layla Blount, Athena Blount, Gabriella Blount, and Jamesson Blount; and former son-in-law, Vincent Porter of Wanatah. Preceding in death were her parents, Tommie Geary and Margarette Milcoff; one son, Nathan Blount; and step father, Roger Milcoff. A visitation and viewing will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte (219) 362-3100. There will be no services.
