Robert “Bibber” Fern, 72, was born to Robert and Patricia (Kiely) Fern on May 12, 1950 in Holyoke. He graduated from HHS in 1968. He joined the Army National guard and served for six years. Bibber married the love of his life Katie (Dunn) on March 17, 1972. They happily celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this year. He worked for sweet Life for many years before becoming the shipping supervisor at Arnold’s Meats in Chicopee until his retirement. He leaves his wife Katie, His daughter Bridget Kugler (Eric), sons Michael (Jodi) and Jeremy. Along with 7 Grandchildren and one a great granddaughter. He also leaves his best friend and brother-in-law Jamie Dunn (Maryann) and his sister-in-law Ellie Dunn Murphy (Jim). Bibber also leaves his nieces and nephews, and many loving friends. He also leaves his sister Susan Marchewka.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday June 30 at 10:00am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will follow in Saint Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday June 29 from 3:00 to 6:00pm in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke.
