Dunklee, Donna Marie (Cummings) - of Montrose, age 86, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 25, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Pastor Hal Phillips officiating. Private burial in Montrose Township Cemetery to follow. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from12PM until 7PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Montrose United Methodist Church. Donna was born on December 23, 1935, in St. Louis, Michigan, to Harold and Georgia (Trumpour) Cummings. She married the late Eldon Dunklee on December 19, 1952, and together they had 6 children. Donna was active with Montrose United Methodist Church and the Montrose Lions Club. She served 14 years as a counselor for Camp Quality, a camp for children with terminal illness. Donna was employed for many years with Flushing Community Schools. She was later employed as an office manager at the family owned business that Donna and Eldon established. Donna had many talents, and whether painting, crocheting, gardening, or baking, she did it with great pride, expertise and love. Her dog, Peaches was an important part of life for many years. She loved all living creatures - cardinals being her favorite. Among her greatest achievements was managing a household and 6 children with limited resources. Using her creativity and intelligence, she provided a safe and loving environment for her children. Donna was deeply devoted to the care of her children. After her children were grown, Donna developed a love of running and competed in several area road races. She and Eldon had time to vacation and enjoyed the beaches of Florida every fall. Surviving are: Children: Keith (Sue) Dunklee of Montrose, Michael (Robin) Dunklee of Mt. Morris, Penny (Ron) Lewis of Montrose, Leann (Alan) Robinson of Italy, and Rocky Dunklee of Flint; and daughter-in-law Margie Dunklee; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Siblings: Linda Elder of Arizona, Charles Cummings of Montrose, and Delilah Harris of Tennessee. Donna was preceded in death by: Husband, Eldon Dunklee; Son, Robert Dunklee; Father, Harold Cummings; Mother, Georgia (Trumpour) Cummings.
