William B Haynes

BARRE- William B. Haynes, 81, of Barre, MA, formerly of Upton and Hudson, died on June 22, 2022, at Rose Monahan Hospice in Worcester, MA after a period of declining health.<br><br>He was born in Melrose, MA on August 30, 1940, one of four children of the late Kenneth R. and Norma (Fox) Haynes. He grew up in Hudson and graduated from Hudson High School in 1960.<br><br>He leaves his wife of 60 years, Marilyn, two sons; Daniel and his wife Mary of Oakham; Jonathan and his wife Angela of Petersham; four cherished granddaughters, Erin, Meghan, Emily, and Sarah; a brother Kenneth and his wife Geraldine Haynes of Salem, NH; a sister Hallie French of Hudson; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Robert, formerly of Hudson, MA and Milford, NH.<br><br>“Bill” was a service technician with Sears, Roebuck and Co., retiring in 1995. He was a 28-year member of the military, serving in the U.S Army National Guard, Yankee Division, and the Army Reserves, 1001st Unit, a division of the 94th ARCOM working for FEMA.<br><br>He was a member of the Petersham Orthodox Congregational Church in Petersham, MA.<br><br>William enjoyed spending time with his family and vacationing anyplace warm. He particularly enjoyed trips to Disney World.<br><br>Family and friends are invited to join the family at calling hours Wednesday, June 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. in Pillsbury Funeral Home 96 S. Barre Road, Barre, MA. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, June 30 at 11 a.m. at Petersham Orthodox Congregational Church, 21 North Main Street, Petersham, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Barre Fire EMS, P.O. Box 430, Barre, MA 01005, or the Petersham Orthodox Congregational Church, P.O. Box 183, Petersham, MA 01366. <br>
