Kimrae A. Alsheimer Obituary

On June 21st, Kimrae Alsheimer, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 64. Kimrae was born on July 10, 1957 in Bath, New York to Donald and Barbara Kraft. Her family lived outside of Bath in the beautiful countryside of New York State. She had several siblings: Kyla, Karen, Kendall, Kevin, Kory and Jane.

She met her husband, John, while at a Youth For Christ camp in 1973. Eventually they married and moved to the South Seneca area, settling in Interlaken. She graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a Special Education and Elementary Teaching Degree and went on to teach at the Interlaken Christian School and South Seneca Elementary School for 35 years. She also earned a Master’s Degree in reading from SUNY Cortland.

On February 12, 1977, she married John Alsheimer and was married for 45 years. Kimrae raised four children: Krisonda, Jonathan, Daniel and Zachary. She was extremely proud of who they were and what they have become. Kimrae fell in love with their spouses: Krisonda married Cody Hosmer and has two young sons named Caiden and Maxon, Jonathan married Jaime Fisher and are raising two daughters named Adleigh and Sadie, Daniel married Christy Burczak and are expecting their first and Zachary married Keleigh Bicknell and have a young son named Wyatt.

Kimrae had a passion for God and being a witness of His greatness. She also loved children and was a teacher who cared for all facets of their well being. She loved serving others and did so in her church as a member of the Praise Team of Seneca Community in Romulus. Her love for God took her to two mission trips to Honduras with the Mama Project to bring His love to others. Yes, she sang, she loved sports and reading, but, most of all, she absolutely loved her friends and family. That led her to fall in love with traveling south to see her kids and grandkids. This wonderful lady became known for her kindness to others and caring for anyone she met. Her smile could light up any darkened room or heart.

Kimrae is survived by her sisters and brothers and was preceded in death by her dad and mom, Donald and Barbara.

Lastly, her husband wanted to make this final statement: “She was the best person I have ever met and known. Though we are sad for ourselves, she is having the best of times being with her Lord and He is taking care of my girlfriend until we meet again.”

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, June 29th at 4:00 pm at the Seneca Community Church in Romulus, NY. Join us in celebrating the life of this amazing woman and how she
gave her all for her Lord. After the service please stay for refreshments and a time of fellowship with her family.
