Along with five grandchildren who he adored Karissa, Rebecca, Dominic, Lily, and Owen. Chuck is predeceased by his sister Shirley Jean Turner Hazelbaker and sister Carlene Bledsoe (Hazelbaker). Chuck was a very proud husband, father, and Papa. His greatest pleasure in life was time spent with his family. Dinners, card games, watching sports, telling stories, telling his jokes, and funny sayings. Chuck was always told to “write a book” about his life by his family and friends. Part of his untold legacy includes selling his song “Hello Walls” for $500 when he was a youngin while performing it at a country fair. It later became largely popular by Willie Nelson in 1961. Chuck wrote many poems, and loved to make up sayings like “I’m finer than a frog hair split three ways”, “Holler at me later” and “Don’t forget my number” to mention a few. Arm wrestling was his sport and you'd be sorry to take him on. Chuck was proud of being in the United States Navy from November 21, 1955 to November 20, 1961. Chuck served his time on the aircraft carrier the USS Wasp, the lead ship of her class. Chuck received a Good Conduct Medal (First Award) for service November 20, 1958. Chuck's total active service was 3 years 11 months; Foreign and overseas service was 3 years 6 months and 12 days. Chuck was honorably discharged November 20, 1961. Chuck later became a proud member of The American Legion. Chuck was also proud of his career and retirement with General Electric in Lynn, Massachusetts. He was known at GE not only for his hard work and dedication but also for making the freshest, hottest and best tasting coffee for only 25¢ a cup. Chuck loved his friends who became like family at The White Eagle, a popular place for GE workers to meet after work. He made friends wherever he went whether it was the bank or a store. Chuck loved going to his childrens and grandchildrens sporting events, dance recitals, and plays. Chuck loved living in Goffstown, New Hampshire and reminiscing about growing up on the farm in Missouri, and making great friends on his farm in Tennessee. Chuck impacted all of our lives in some way and greatly impacted his children's lives, helping mold their beliefs about family values, bravery, selflessness, and love that will impact future generations to come. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers donations can be mad to the NH Alzheimer's Association.
