Margaret "Peg" M. Nelson

Margaret “Peg” M. Nelson, 63, of Union Grove, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Eldercare Cottages in Waterford. Born in Nekoosa, Wisconsin on May 1, 1959, she was the daughter of James and Lois (nee Weitkum) McGrath. Her early life was spent in Union Grove, where she graduated from Union Grove High School. On September 2, 1977, in Racine, she was united in marriage to Thomas Nelson. Following marriage, they made Union Grove their home. Peg worked for C.H. Coakley for over 20 years. She was a huge fan of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and attended many concerts. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. Peg is survived by her husband, Tom; children, Jamie Nelson and Lisa (Jeff) Galvan; grandsons, Lane and Luke Galvan; and siblings, Julie (Paul) Woerpel, Carol (Andy) Wisniewski, Dan (Tammy) McGrath and Terry McGrath. Peg is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family would like to thank the staff at Eldercare Cottages, for their care and compassion during this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Alzheimer’s Association. A Celebration of Life Open House will be held at Tin Can Roadhouse (20715 Durand Ave., Union Grove, WI 53182) on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 4:00 PM.
