<p>Raymond "Ray" Richard, 88, of Enfield, husband of the late Jeanette (Kiejko) Richard (2021), passed away peacefully on Monday, June 20, 2022 with his family by his side. Ray was the son of the late Charles and Steffie (Roblinski) Richard. Raised in the Hazardville section of Enfield, Ray lived in Enfield his entire life. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served honorably in Korea during the Korean Conflict. Ray was a true family man. He gave his children the gift of knowledge of nature and the outdoors from skiing in Vermont, spending summers clamming at the Cape, raising an injured crow that the family named Heidi, fishing and even how to tie flies. He knew every stocked trout pond around. Fishing, hunting and trapping with family and friends kept Ray happiest. Salmon fishing trips to NY and Canada were highlights of his sporting adventures. He was a member of the John Maciolek Post #154 American Legion, along with Enfield, Suffield and Broad Brook Sportsmen's Association. Ray loved people and sharing stories about growing up in Hazardville. Powder Hollow, the Scantic River and tobacco fields were all part of his sanctuary where he found peace and friendship. </p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by five children, Rosemary Colegrove, Kathleen Dziura (Bruce), Paul Richard (Kim), Lisa Morin (Ed), and John Richard (Kathy); 8 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Russell Jr., Stephen, Daniel, Reghan, Riley, John, and Jenna; 2 great-grandchildren, Tova and Jori; a sister, Katherine Oligny, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also leaves his beloved Wilbur and many special friends and neighbors. He was predeceased by a son, Raymond Richard Jr. </p><p><br></p><p>Family and friends may gather from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 Monday June 27, 2022 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield for visitation. A procession will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens going to St. Bernard Church of St. Jeanne Jugan Parish, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield. for a 1:30 p.m. Mass. Committal, with military honors, will be held at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 11:30am.
