Craig Robert Busseau Obituary

Craig Robert Busseau, age 64, of Columbia MO, left us suddenly to meet his Savior on June 14th, 2022.

Craig was born on July 26th, 1957, in West Covina, CA to Shirley Schroder and Robert Busseau. He graduated from Concordia University, Seward, NE in 1980 with an Elementary Education degree and a Director of Christian Education degree.

He had served as Director of Christian Education, elementary school teacher, and principal in many locations. His prayer life included so many students and their families. He supported school expansions, accreditations, and church growth through building projects while fostering young people’s elementary school growth and spiritual growth. He also spent many years on camp boards and Lutheran district campaigns. His most recent ministry was working with congregation at Campus Lutheran Church, Columbia, MO.

Craig R. Busseau is survived by his wife Beth Busseau of Columbia, MO, his mother Shirley Jean Busseau of Ashland, MO; his children, Sarah Katherine Bellach of College Station, TX (along with her husband Jeffrey and children Caden and Aliya) and Carl Philip Busseau of Hendersonville, TN (along with his wife Aimee and children Abigail and Emma).

He was a member of Campus Lutheran Church and served as the Director of Christian Education for the past 7 years. His family and friends will always remember him as a sincere listener with a humble spirit lead by his Lord and Savior. So many colleagues were viewed as friends in ministry throughout the years.

As husband he would plan mystery trips to quilt shops and venture to new restaurants “without plastic seats”. He also shared the love of movies and exploring historic places. As our family grew, Craig took an active role in raising Sarah and Carl. He took great pride in their personal success. He was delighted when he took on the role of grandfather and wore the title of ‘Papa’ to Caden, Abigail, Emma, and Aliya proudly.

If you arrived for dinner, Craig was cooking, usually Mexican food; his hosting abilities grew as ministry expanded. We are all grateful for numerous vacations spent camping, exploring National Parks (visitor centers with impromptu science lessons), model railroad layouts and elaborate Lego rebuilds with Caden. Craig’s love of outdoors was often expressed in woodworking.

“Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord.”

Psalm 102:18
