Peggy Hayes Gibson, 78, of Winston Salem died Monday June 20,2022. She was born on November 14, 1943, in Whiteville, NC to the late Dr. James Willard and Louise Treadwell Hayes. She was employed with Foster & Hailey for a short time and retired to become a homemaker. Peggy was a devote christian, a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Fairmont, NC. and was attending College Park Baptist Church. Surviving is her husband of 58 years Harold Gibson, brother Bill Hayes and wife Liliana, two nephews Chad Edwin Hayes, and James W. Hayes III, brother-in-law John Wayne Gibson and wife Beth, and numerous cousins. Peggy enjoyed traveling, eating out, listening to music and most of all being a homemaker. Funeral service will be held 12 noon on Thursday June 23, 2022, at College Park Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Wilson officiating. Inurnment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 11:45 prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Kate B.
