Edward Fielder Brodhead, Kentucky Obituary

Edward Fielder

Gus Edward Fielder, son of Robert and Elsie Fielder of Estill County Kentucky, entered our world on March 3rd, 1940. He went Home to Jesus on June 20th, 2022 chasing FURIOUSLY after his beloved Bride, Kay Fielder, for 18 months just as he began in 1963. He married Kay on December 12th 1964 and they began a life together. Ed, as he was known, worked every day of his life whether it be slopping hogs and plowing fields as a boy to laying the first load of rock on what would become Interstate 75 south from Cincinnati and beyond. He always worked with trucks or heavy equipment of which many considered him a Master. There was nothing he couldn’t master however. In July of 1967 they welcomed a son into the family, Wayne Edward Fielder. Ed raised his son and provided for his Bride by building his own Trucking company, merging that company with Langley Incorporated, and later as Foreman for Creech Incorporated providing services to Kentucky’s Thoroughbred industry.

Retirement beckoned and Ed and Kay moved to Renfro Valley where they opened Valley Keepsake. What started as a music store with various collectibles turned into Country Meadow Soap Company that was always the passion of this passionate couple.

Ed continued chasing his Bride and raising his son over the next 56 years until Kay preceded him in Heaven on December 13th of 2020. My beloved father continued chasing his Bride for the next 18 months until he found her…in Heaven.

He is survived by a brother Gene (Roxanne) Fielder, a Sister Lorraine (Paul) Hendrix, both of Ashland, his son, Wayne (Angela) Fielder of Frankfort, his niece Jennifer Fielder of Irvine, and kinda-adopted daughters Rachelle Riddle of Brodhead and Bethany Martin of Mt Vernon. Not all Family is blood.

I love you Daddy. See you soon.

Visitation for Ed will be Friday, June 24, 2022 from 12:00pm until time for the funeral service at 2:00pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Jason Medley officiating. Burial will follow in the Cresthaven Cemetery.

Such a beautiful testimony to their life. Ed and Kay were special people that i was lucky enough to call friends. We shared so many good times at Buckeye Church.

Thank you for taking care of him. Ki...

Wayne, So sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. I enjoyed taking care of your dad when he got an infusion and talking with him. I know he left alot of good memories for family and friends to cherish. May God comfort the family during this difficult time.
