Donna Wussow, age 96 of Glenwood, died Sunday, June 19, 2022 at the Glenwood Retirement Village. A Memorial Service celebrating Donna's life will be held on Thursday, July 7th at 11:30a.m. at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at at later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.  

Donna Marie Wussow was born on April 8, 1926 in Lucan, Minnesota. She was the youngest of six children born to parents Gustav “Gus” and Theresa (Koller) Wurscher. Donna was raised on the family farm and attended school in Lucan. After graduating high school she attended Mankato College where she earned an Associate’s degree in bookkeeping.

Donna was united in marriage to Roger “Bud” Vernon Wussow on February 4, 1947. The first few years of their marriage they owned and operated a bar/restaurant in Lucan. During this time they lived in Lucan and Mankato and were blessed with two children, William “Bill” and Gail. In 1951, the family moved to Bloomington where Bud took a job as an electrician with Ford Motor Company while Donna worked at Aquacraft and CAT as a bookkeeper. Following their retirements, Donna and Bud moved to a home on Pearl Lake near Kimball and they wintered in McAllen, Texas for 20 years. In 2003, they moved to Alexandria to be closer to family.

Donna enjoyed golfing, traveling, playing cards, reading, and spending social time with friends.  Most importantly, she loved spending time with family. 

Donna died on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Glenwood Retirement Village in Glenwood, at the age of 96.

Donna is survived by her son, Bill (Connie) Wussow of Glenwood; and her daughter, Gail Peterson of Apple Valley; two grandchildren, Matthew (Heidi) Wussow and Kelly (Paul) Raimondo; three great-grandchildren, Rowan Wussow, and Max and Rachel Raimondo;

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger (in 2011); three brothers, Lawrence, Bernard (Bud), and Edward; and two sisters, Lorraine (in childhood) and Dorothy Bohnert.
