Ms. Denise Hunt of Fairmont was born on February 15, 1954 in Robeson County and departed this life on June 17, 2022 at UNC Health Southeastern completing her journey of 68 years.

Ms. Hunt was preceded in death by her parents: Lawson and Ludie Mae Hammonds; two children: Greg Deron Locklear and Melinda Hunt; and three brothers: Westley Hammonds, WG Hammonds, and Phillip Locklear.


Ms. Hunt leaves to cherish her memories, her children: Jamie Hunt of the home and Kimberly Sue Hunt of Durham and the father of her children: Ledger Hunt of Fairmont; four siblings: Kathy Hammonds of Fairmont, Barbara Farley (Steve) of Fairmont, Roger Hammonds (Teresa) of Florence, SC, and Ronald Hammonds of Fairmont; a special daughter-in-law: Robin Locklear of Fuquay-Varina; four grandchildren: Brittany Locklear, Warren Locklear, Ramello Wilkins, and Damarco Wilkins; three great-grandchildren: AJ, Kayson, and Marlo; a very special nephew: Charlie Hammonds of Fairmont as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 7-9 P.M. at Boles Funeral Home in Rowland.

The funeral will be Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Fairpoint Freewill Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. We will keep her memories and love within our hearts forever.
